The Riga IIIs (7'4" wide × 10'4" long × 7' tall, ~72 sq ft) is narrower and shorter than the Riga III (9'8" wide × 10'6" long × 7'7" tall, 102 sq ft). The Riga III is the entry point to the wider 9'8" Riga series, offering significantly more interior headroom and working width. Both are non-expandable and use the same German manufacturing and polycarbonate glazing system.

Do I need the base kit (foundation frame)?
The base kit is strongly recommended for soil or lawn installations. It is a 6" H × 116" W × 126" D aluminum frame that is buried in a trench and backfilled with soil to anchor the greenhouse and raise the interior height by 6". Without a proper foundation, the greenhouse may shift over time and the warranty may be affected. If you are installing on an existing concrete pad, the anchor option may be more appropriate than the base kit.

How does the automatic roof opener work?
The automatic roof opener uses a wax-cylinder mechanism that expands and contracts with temperature changes — no electricity required. When the interior temperature rises above a set threshold (typically around 65–70°F), the opener automatically pushes the roof window open to ventilate. When the temperature drops, it closes automatically. It requires no power and no manual adjustment.

Yes — the “onion” arch profile is specifically designed to shed snow. Snow slides off the curved surface rather than accumulating, which prevents the structural loading that causes flat or low-pitch greenhouse roofs to collapse. How long does assembly take?
Assembly takes approximately one full day for two people. Written instructions are included. The Riga assembly facilitation kit (metric tape, 10mm wrenches, ratchet straps, Boss 399 silicone caulk, window restraint cables) is available separately and contains all the specialized tools needed for the build.

Is the Riga III expandable?
No — the Riga III is a fixed-length model and cannot be extended. If you anticipate needing more space in the future, consider the Riga XL series, which is designed to be expandable by adding additional sections.
