Why Choose the Riga Standard Series

The Riga Standard series delivers the same proven German engineering as the entire Riga line in a wider 9'8" design that offers more usable growing space and better headroom. Thick 8mm twin-wall polycarbonate on the side walls and 10mm panels on the front and rear ends provide strong insulation, while the curved shape sheds snow and reduces wind load.

Each greenhouse includes large roof vents (with automatic openers on most sizes), an oversized rear window, and a lockable barn-style door for excellent ventilation and easy access. The result is a durable, well-insulated greenhouse built for real year-round performance in a wide range of climates.

Frequently Asked Questions

Riga Standard Greenhouses

How long does it take to assemble a Riga Standard greenhouse?

Most people complete assembly in 6–10 hours with 2–3 people. The wider 9'8" design takes a bit more time than the narrower Riga ‘S’ models, but the process remains straightforward with the included instructions.

Do I need a foundation for the Riga Standard series?

Yes. For dirt installations, the foundation frame is required. The Riga Standard can also be installed on a concrete pad, wood foundation, or stem wall. Proper anchoring is important for stability in wind and snow.

How well does the Riga Standard handle snow and high winds?

Very well. The curved design sheds snow and reduces wind resistance. When properly anchored, these greenhouses are engineered to handle significant snow loads and strong winds, making them suitable for demanding climates.

Do I need to heat a Riga Standard greenhouse in winter?

It depends on your climate and what you want to grow. The thick twin-wall polycarbonate (8mm sides / 10mm ends) provides strong insulation, so many gardeners grow cool-season crops with little or no heat. In colder regions or for warmer plants, supplemental heat is usually recommended.

What is the warranty on the Riga Standard series?

The aluminum frame carries a 15-year limited warranty. The polycarbonate panels carry a 10-year limited warranty (typically prorated after 5 years). Extreme weather damage is generally not covered under the manufacturer warranty.

What’s the difference between the Riga Standard and the Riga ‘S’ series?

The Riga Standard series is 9'8" wide, giving you more interior space and better headroom than the narrower 7'8" Riga ‘S’ models. Both share the same German engineering, thick twin-wall polycarbonate, and snow-shedding design — the main difference is size and growing capacity.
